This place isn’t just an art museum – it’s an experience that’ll stick with you long after you leave.

The indoor galleries showcase incredible paintings, while the outdoor sculpture park is where the real magic happens. These aren’t small pieces you glance at and move on from. We’re talking massive stone sculptures that seem to grow naturally from the earth, blending so seamlessly with the forest that you’d think they’ve been there for centuries.
Here’s what I love about Jamaica Giants – it was born from friendship and a genuine desire to share beauty with the community. Back in 2015, Negril businessman Ricky Jackson bought this property with a vision. He wanted to bring art to the people, to create something meaningful that everyone could enjoy. So he called up his friends, sculptor Fitzroy Russell and painter Bruce Allen, and together they created something truly special.
Both Fitzroy and Bruce graduated from what is now called the Edna Manley School of Art in Jamaica. They spent time living abroad, pursuing their craft in different parts of the world, but eventually came back home to do what they love. There’s something beautiful about that – artists who could work anywhere choosing to create right here in Jamaica, sharing their talents with their own community.
I have to tell you about the best mistake I made during my visit. I showed up early – like, really early. The tour guide wasn’t there yet, and normally that would be frustrating, right? But it turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I got to meet Mr. Fitzroy Russell himself!
This man is turning blocks of stone into stories, and he actually let me watch him work. He explained the inspiration behind the sculpture he was creating, walking me through his process and his vision. Watching an artist create in real-time, seeing how they transform raw stone into something that speaks to your soul – that’s not something you get to experience every day.
Walking through Jamaica Giants feels like discovering a secret world hidden in the forest. There are two indoor museums showcasing Bruce Allen’s paintings, and each piece tells its own story. But the sculpture park? That’s where things get really interesting.
This was my first time visiting a sculpture park, and I was completely blown away. The art doesn’t compete with nature here – it dances with it. The sculptures seem to emerge organically from the landscape, like they’ve always belonged there. One moment you’re walking through pristine tropical forest, and the next you’re face to face with a massive stone creation that makes you stop and think.

The combination of art and nature creates this peaceful atmosphere that’s hard to describe. You feel it the moment you arrive. It’s not rushed or crowded. It’s a place where you can take your time, breathe, and really appreciate what’s around you.
Here’s something that really touched me – none of the artwork at Jamaica Giants is for sale. Let that sink in for a second. In a world where everything seems to be about profit, Ricky, Fitzroy, and Bruce created something purely to share with their community. This is art for the people, nature for the soul, and experiences that money can’t buy.
These three friends didn’t create Jamaica Giants to get rich. They created it because they believe art should be accessible, that beauty should be shared, and that nature and creativity together can create something transformative.
If you’re heading to Westmoreland or anywhere near Negril, you absolutely need to add Jamaica Giants to your itinerary. There’s an entrance fee, and trust me, it’s worth every penny. The experience you get – walking through unspoiled forest, discovering incredible sculptures, possibly meeting the artists themselves – it’s priceless.
