Now, while I was born in the Big Apple, my heart beats to a Jamaican rhythm. You see, my amazing parents hail from this beautiful island – my Mom’s from the lush parish of St. Mary, and my Dad’s a proud son of Manchester. They found each other in New York, which is where I first opened my eyes to the world.

But Jamaica wasn’t just a story in our household. When I was six, my folks decided I needed a good dose of that real Jamaican life, so off I went to live with my wonderful grandparents until I was fourteen. Those years? Pure magic! I learned to climb orange trees, chase chickens (they’re surprisingly fast!), and speak patois like a true yardie. Then it was back to New York for my education, but trust me, every holiday was a one-way ticket back to my beloved Jamaica. I even made it official and grabbed my Jamaican citizenship – passport and all!

Fast forward a bit, and in 2022, I made the best decision ever: I packed my bags and moved right here to Kingston, where I’m living the dream! Now, if you know me, there are two things that get my engine revving: exploring new places and, you guessed it, everything about Jamaica!

So, I had this bright idea – why not create a little corner of the internet where I can share all the incredible things I’m discovering about my home? This space, Uncover Jamaica, is my way of inviting you to learn and experience the real heart and soul of this island right alongside me. I’m talking warmth that hugs you like the Jamaican sun, adventures that’ll get your adrenaline pumping (in a good way!), fun that’ll have you laughing until your belly hurts, and a healthy dose of education about our rich culture and history.

Ultimately, Uncover Jamaica is here to shout from the mountaintops about the sheer beauty of this island. I want to inspire folks to not just visit the famous spots (because they’re awesome!), but to also venture off the beaten path, discover those hidden treasures, and maybe even consider making Jamaica a place to live, work, and build a life or business.
